The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), as the national professional body for Supply Chain Management education in Sri Lanka, successfully conducted a webinar titled "𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒔" on 21st November 2024 at 7:00 PM via Zoom.
The session featured 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. Nalin Abeysekera Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies at the Open University of Sri Lanka, as the resource person. Prof. Abeysekara shared his expertise on how Supply Chain professionals can position themselves effectively in the industry, emphasizing personal branding and strategic career development.
The event, organized by ISMM's Career Guidance Committee, drew participation from over 200 attendees, showcasing the importance of this topic among professionals and students. In his welcome address, 𝐌𝐫. Jayantha Gallehewa, President of ISMM and President-Elect of OPA, highlighted the critical role of self-marketing for professionals across all industries. He also expressed gratitude to 𝐌𝐚𝐣. 𝐆𝐞𝐧. 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐚 𝐔𝐝𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚 (𝐑𝐭𝐝), Vice President of ISMM and Chairman of the Career Guidance Committee, for his leadership in organizing this impactful webinar.
