The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), Sri Lanka’s National Professional Institute for Supply Chain Management Education, successfully hosted a comprehensive workshop titled "The Roadmap to International Trade Success: A Practical Guide to Import and Export Adaption to Procedures and Best Practice" on 09th April 2025 at Park Premier, Excel World, Colombo.
The event drew a dynamic audience of professionals across various sectors including Supply Chain, procurement, logistics, and finance. This full-day session, held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., delivered actionable insights into global trade procedures, compliance frameworks, and best practices essential for successful import and export operations.
The workshop was enriched by the expertise of Mr. Priyanga Kirihena, General Secretary of ISMM and experienced SCM Consultant, alongside Mr. M. Ravindrakumar, Retired Director of Sri Lanka Customs. Their in-depth knowledge and practical approaches to international trade procedures greatly benefited the participants.
The event was further elevated by the presence of ISMM leadership including Mr. Lilantha Subasinghe, President of ISMM, and Capt. Akram Alavi (Rtd.), Director of Training at ISMM, whose support reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to delivering impactful capacity-building initiatives.
This interactive workshop provided an excellent platform for professionals to broaden their understanding of international trade processes, adapt to regulatory changes, and align with global best practices.
