The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), Sri Lanka’s National Professional Institute for Supply Chain Management Education, successfully conducted a comprehensive workshop titled “Forecasting the Future: Analytics in Supply Chain Demand Planning” on 09th December 2025.
The event brought together a diverse group of professionals representing Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, and Demand Planning functions. This full-day session, held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., equipped participants with practical tools and analytical frameworks to enhance demand forecasting accuracy, manage uncertainty, and support data-driven decision-making in modern supply chains.
The workshop was led by 𝐃𝐫. (𝐄𝐧𝐠.) 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚, Vice President and Chairman – PD & TC of ISMM, whose extensive expertise and real-world insights enabled participants to clearly understand the application of analytics, forecasting models, and scenario planning in demand management.The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Mr. Lilantha Subasinghe, President of ISMM, along with members of the ISMM staff, reaffirming the Institute’s strong commitment to continuous professional development.
This highly interactive session provided an invaluable platform for industry professionals to broaden their understanding of analytical demand planning, improve forecasting reliability, and align supply chain strategies with business objectives, thereby strengthening organizational resilience and competitiveness.
